Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal-arts college in Fremont, Nebraska, (just outside of metro Omaha) is seeking an exceptional adjunct faculty member to teach Chemistry for the Health Sciences and associated labs. Courses are offered in 16-week terms. Term begins in January.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare educational materials including course objectives, syllabus, lesson plans
  • Appropriately use the course management system Canvas for course contents (constantly updating grades, sharing course materials, etc.)
  • Teach the subject matter and update the course materials as appropriate for the subject
  • Evaluate student performance in a variety ways (assignments, exams, laboratory work, and any other relevant activity) and provide timely feedback on these assessments
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24-hours, meet with them individually as needed

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in chemistry or a related field
  • Experience teaching at the college level or teaching/training adults is highly preferred.
