Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is accepting applications for the position of Sports Information Specialist - Graduate Assistant there are two openings for this position. Midland University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).

The position will be offered within our graduate assistant structure, requiring admission to the University's Master of Education Leadership program.

The candidate will be responsible for writing postgame recaps, graphic design for athletics publications, website maintenance, stat keeping, social media, marketing/promotions, photography/videography, and other duties as assigned.

The position offers tuition remission from the University a monthly stipend, on-campus housing option, and an on-campus meal plan.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Representing Midland University

  • Cover all 31 varsity sport programs Writing/editing and meeting deadlines Graphic design Statistics and record keeping Social media Website maintenance Video production and video board operation
  • Gameday management
  • Marketing/promotions efforts

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree (English, Communications, Sports Management or similar preferred)
  • A minimum of one semester of demonstrable previous experience in an SID office setting
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven ability to multitask
  • Good interpersonal communication skills

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a writer, journalist, yearbook editor, or similar
  • Adobe Creative Suite software experience
  • Video filming and editing experience
  • Experience with graphic/publication design using Photoshop and InDesign
  • StatCrew and/or DakStats software experience
