Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal-arts college in Fremont, Nebraska, (just outside of metro Omaha) is seeking an exceptional adjunct faculty member to teach in a clinical setting for the Mother/Baby nursing course in the School of Nursing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: collaborating with nursing course faculty; coordinating with hospital staff to prepare clinical assignments for a group of 6-8 students in an acute care hospital setting in the Omaha area; documenting clinical feedback; grading of clinical assignments; conducting student midterm and final clinical evaluations; responding to student inquiries within 24-hours, and meeting with them individually as needed. Courses are offered in 16-week terms. Term begins in January 2022.


  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the state of Nebraska or Iowa.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or enrollment in a Master's or Doctoral program in Nursing.
  • Clinical experience in obstetric, labor and delivery, mother/baby nursing.
  • Ability to meet clinical agency requirements, such as a background check, abuse check, drug testing, CPR, immunizations, health care insurance, etc.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate: A desire to teach nursing students in the specialty area of Mother/Baby nursing care. A willingness to collaborate with faculty peers. A genuine interest in student development. An ability to work with diverse student populations. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster a collegial work environment that encourages change and innovation; and an ability to interact effectively and work productively, cooperatively, and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups.
