Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking a dynamic, innovative, passionate Director to provide collaborative leadership and strategic direction for the continuous growth of our Arts program. The Midland Arts program offers a wide variety of opportunities for students of any major to pursue their passion for the arts through co-curricular experiences and academic programs.

Under the leadership of the Director of the Arts, the Assistant Director works closely with the Arts Directors, Marketing, and Admissions to create collaborative marketing and outreach programs to promote the arts at Midland. This role is charged with implementing a strategic plan to support the enrollment and recruiting goals for undergraduate students in the Arts.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create, develop, and implement creative strategies for Arts department marketing and recruitment.
  • Lead recruitment implementation in collaboration with focus area directors, and in supervision of work study students.
  • Partner with the University Communications and Admissions team to build outreach campaigns and public relations strategies to promote the arts department and events.
  • Analyze and report department data to ensure that staff, leadership, and administration are informed of department progress towards goals.
  • Represent the University at internal and external events, community college visits, college fairs, and high school outreach.
  • Establish and guide arts recruitment goals, with consideration of retention, budget, and department growth.
  • Build relationships with prospective students, parents, and high school teachers and directors.
  • Create and implement various marketing strategies for various arts audiences (community members, prospective students, alumni, campus staff and students)
  • Supervise team of work study students overseeing internal and external arts events, office administration, and recruitment.
  • Set strategy for and manage department media communications including, but not limited to, social media, press releases, web content, archival footage, and audio and visual media.
  • Teach various courses, based on experience and content expertise.
  • Support program development initiatives and proposals through research, reporting, planning, and implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2+ years of previous admissions, sales, or marketing experience is preferred
  • Passion and experience in the arts

Skills & Experience preferred:

  • Strong rapport building and persuasion skills required.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Videography/Photography Skills
  • Familiarity with graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Event Planning/Management
