Reporting to the Dean, School of Business, this individual will be responsible for drafting curriculum for this program, including writing and finalizing the course's final syllabi, working with constituents on the core curriculum requirements, and working with area businesses for partnership purposes. In addition, the instruction developer could potentially teach courses in the Agribusiness program once it is launched. Course development will begin immediately with expected completion by the end of March, 2021.

 

Midland University's Dunklau School of Business is seeking a seasoned professional in the field of agribusiness to lead the development of courses in agronomy, animal science, and the commodity value chain.

 

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a master's degree in agribusiness, agriculture, or a related industry, such as agronomy, animal science (focus on farm animals preferred), or other relevant fields.
  • 5 or more years working in an agriculture-related industry, specifically in a hands-on capacity.
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of the "soft" skills (communications, leadership, operations, sales, problem solving, planning, customer, intercultural competence) and "hard" skills (equipment usage, handling, etc.) required in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and labor market needs of the agribusiness field and agriculture-related industries.
  • Strong writing and communication skills. Experience with academic writing and reporting is highly preferred.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience at the college level, and experience with developing curriculum in the field of agriculture, and favorable recommendations from references.

Salary commensurate with experience.
